They lived from early as 7th or 8th B.C. and at their maximum expansion, Celts has occupied most of a Europe from north of Alps to the land of northern Spain and Britain in 3rd to 5th century B.C. Later the Romans absorbed most of Celts territory, only leaving half of Britain of Celts territory. The Celtic culture still survives today in Brittany, Cornwall, Ireland, the Isle of Man, Scotland, and Wales. The word Celtic generally means "The language of Celts", but it could also be used as "From Celts" or "Style of Celts".
